The forms of the plague
There were three types of The Black Death, bubonic, septicemic and pneumonic. These were the different types of the plague.
bubonic
The bubonic plague happens by the bite of a flea which carries the bacteria. The bacteria multiplies within the flea before it is transferred to the person. The rats helped the fleas to spread and multiply around urban areas.
septicemic
The septicemic plague is created by the entrance of the bacteria from their multiplying place that moves into the blood vessels. The septicemic plague were mostly spread by animals and rodents, especially the prairie dogs. The infection was carried by the fleas that was on an infected animal. The infection takes place on the outside of an animal, for example and open wound or cut.
pneumonic
The pneumonic plague happens when the lungs are infected. This type of plague can spread from person to person through the air. Transmission can take place if someone breathes in aerosolised bacteria. Pneumonic plague is also spread by breathing in Y. Pestis ( a bacteria ), suspended in breathing droplets from a person or animal with the pneumonic plague. Becoming infected in this way usually requires direct and close contact with the ill person or animal. Pneumonic plague may also occur if a person with the bubonic or septicemic plague is untreated and the bacteria spread to the lungs
